Arts for Good Foundation Newsletter
September 2026

University of Chicago career exploration week in Hong Kong, September 2026
Welcome to the September 2026 newsletter of the Arts for Good Foundation. Sending warm greetings from the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences at University College London (UCL), I am delighted to share my new academic pursuit in social and cultural anthropology within a vibrant multidisciplinary environment whilst continuing to engage with critical questions of humanity. This includes but is not limited to exploring humanistic values through material and creative practices in the age of artificial intelligence.

This month, we are honored that Arts for Good was featured in the University of Chicago's two-day experiential education and career advancement visit to Hong Kong, hosting a group of 20 students across diverse disciplines. Moreover, through Hong Kong Baptist University's inclusive employment scheme, we are proud to announce that the HKBU Career Centre and the Office of Student Affairs have recognized the Arts for Good Foundation as an Inclusive Employer Partner. At Arts for Good, we view career development as a lifelong process of connecting the dots, aligning personal experiences with professional growth to help each individual shape their unique career path. We remain deeply committed to creating impactful and meaningful experiences for young people and inspiring emerging talent to drive social impact through the power of the arts.

A Note on Our Schedule: Starting this September, our newsletter will transition to a quarterly publication schedule, allowing us to share regular updates and in-depth developments every three months.

Kind Regards,

Autumn Program: Cross-Cultural Perspectives & Language Learning through Creative Practices

Supported by the proceeds and momentum of our August exhibition, Between Places, we are proud to launch our Autumn 2026 workshop series in partnership with the New Home Association in Sham Shui Po.

Running from October through December, this initiative brings together a multidisciplinary cohort of international artists based in Hong Kong to engage local youth and children through their unique artistic lens. The program uses creative expression as an organic bridge for English language learning, enabling children to build ideas, articulate thoughts, and express themselves creatively in a supportive and immersive setting.

Crucially, the execution and facilitation of these learning experiences are driven by a dedicated new cohort of eight youth team members (aged 16–24) from two local NGOs and the University of Hong Kong (HKU). By working side by side with international artists, these young facilitators step into roles of leadership and community service, fostering their own personal growth and professional development through collaborative art practices.

Through this autumn program, we invite all beneficiaries to explore diverse perspectives on the beauty found throughout Hong Kong's landscapes. Our focus centers on:

  • Reflecting Lived Experiences: Translating personal stories and everyday urban reflections into creative and tactile forms;

  • Creating Social & Cultural Dialogues: Engaging with artists from diverse cultural and social backgrounds to broaden artistic and civic perspectives;

  • Seeking Shared Wisdom & Global Celebrations: Discovering shared humanistic values, cultural traditions, and community connections within Hong Kong.

Through this rich exchange of art, language, and cultural traditions, the program empowers both young beneficiaries and youth facilitators to re-envision our city as a dynamic crossroads of global inspiration and connectivity.

歡迎閱讀Arts for Good Foundation 2026年9月通訊。

1. 映照生活體驗:把個人故事與對日常城市生活的觀察,轉化為富有創意、可觸可感的作品;

2. 促進社會與文化對話:與來自不同文化及社會背景的藝術家交流,拓寬通過藝術創造拓寬對社會的多元視野;
