Newsletter from Arts for Good Foundation - February 2023
Welcome to the February 2023 newsletter of the Arts for Good Foundation. This month, we are thrilled to share updates on the exciting collaborations and continued support we receive on our journey. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunities that these partnerships provide as we move towards our shared goal of having a positive impact on youth in Hong Kong.

As we embark on this journey, we remain humbled and eager to work with different partners. Our goal is to broaden the perspectives of children and youths in Hong Kong, to help them build deeper emotional and intellectual connections with Hong Kong, to seek greater good and to contribute to our society. As we pursue these goals, as an organisation we are committed to continuously improving our resource allocation, partnerships, team building, management and program design. By doing so, we hope to benefit more students in Hong Kong in the coming years and make a lasting difference through our community-based arts-integrated learning projects.

Global Launchpad Demo Day

We greatly value the support of the Global Launchpad programme with the University of Chicago. Support from the programme enabled us to showcase Arts for Good Foundation, sharing our vision and our unique perspective of social inclusion to over 140 professionals in social impact, impact investment, and sustainability in Hong Kong.

We would like to extend a special thanks to the videography service provided by the Under Production HK which was funded by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation to provide their digital expertise to selected NGOs and Social Enterprises for positive social impact. Thanks to their kind support, we were able to record our presentation and are currently editing the footages into a pitch video that will be shared to stakeholders in the coming year.

ESG Collaboration with MTR Sustainability, Art in MTR, HKU-MACC , HKU-Guild, and HKBU-TriAngel
#ESG: Environment, Social and Governance

We are very excited to launch our ESG collaboration with MTR-Sustainability, Art in MTR, The University of Hong Kong, and The Hong Kong Baptist University. Together, we are embarking on a journey of videomaking with over 30 youths through the Art in MTR programme. This project aims to help the youths gain new perspectives on the civic life, create artistic and meaningful connections between art and civic life, and build deeper emotional and intellectual connections to the neighbourhoods and the wider communities in Hong Kong.

We deeply appreciate the valuable time that participating students will invest and their commitment to advocating art for the general public through their unique frames of reference. This project will allow young participants to express their individual feelings and showcase their connections to chosen artworks in MTR buildings across the city and the neighborhoods where these artworks are located. We believe that this experience will help them build a deeper sense of ownership and purpose in applying their digital skills and advocating art for greater joy and meaning to everyone in different walks of life. We are committed to engaging and supporting these youths, helping them express their personal feelings and unique perspectives on Hong Kong while also contributing to society through interpreting artworks of the Art in MTR programme.

NFTs Launched for Student Participants and Volunteers

Since our journey began, we have always appreciated the support from our volunteers from diverse professional backgrounds as well as  the students who have shared their art and life journeys with us. Thanks to the support from Popsible HK, we have launched four NFT artworks - two for the participating students and two for the volunteers. The four artworks were contributed by Chinese Painting Artist Katrina Mo. Students and volunteers will receive a redemption email from our interns who will manage the redemption process for the NFTs. Students and volunteers could also email us to redeem the NFTs directly.

With this initiative, we hope to build stronger connections with student participants and volunteers in a new platform as we continue to grow. We also hope to embrace the changing nature of the world with them in this emerging metaverse and explore new possibilities together as a whole with the support of technology on our pathway forward.
