Youth Mental Health Documentary
According to recent estimates by university researchers, over 55,000 Hong Kong residents are projected to experience depression each year. It is anticipated that addressing this widespread condition will incur an annual cost of HK$2.51 billion for the city until 2032 (SCMP, 1 November 2024).
"Beneath the Sun, Once Again" is a documentary created by a group of youths based on their real-life experiences. This short film aims to uplift the well-being of their peers in Hong Kong. Arts for Good strongly believes in and advocates for the importance of art and storytelling as integral parts of youth development, with a central relevant focus on local communities that is firmly rooted in Hong Kong's broader creative context. This approach enable us to collaborate with young people to address real societal issues through the lens of true life stories.
We support young individuals, empowering them to share their personal narratives. Our aim is to enrich lives with deeper meanings, to embrace the power of hope, and to recognise the significance of serving others. We strive to integrate art into holistic personal development and various learning experiences, foster a sense of belonging, and explore societal and humanitarian issues through macro and micro visual lens. We believe that creative process itself ultimately facilitates purpose-driven career development and diverse life experiences and perspectives.
In a broader sense, this integrated approach contributes to the well-being of individuals and communities, as well as to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for the good of our future.
