Creative and Storytelling Social Impact Framework
Arts for Good Exclusive
Welcome to the December 2024 newsletter of the Arts for Good Foundation. This month, we are pleased to announce the successful completion of the English Creative Writing Support through Arts Integrated Learning and Community Outreach. We are grateful to the School of English at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for the collaboration which has enriched our portfolio with the meaningful service project. On the other note, we extend our appreciation to the Rotary Club of Shouson Hill for their support towards a creative art endeavour of Arts for Good in 2025.

As we approach to the new year of creating new possibilities, we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for the invaluable opportunities that have enriched our journey. We are deeply grateful for the trust and collaboration that have been extended to us. All the support has been pivotal in driving our big dreams forward and in making this year truly memorable. We are dedicated to fostering meaningful partnerships with the same unwavering passion and diligence, committed to excellence and creativity in all our social endeavours through and with the arts.

Last but not least, as we bid farewell to 2024, we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2025.

Better City, Better Life: “Along the River During Qingming Festival - Kwun Tong”
Part 1 with Hong Kong Baptist University

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the first part of “Along the River During Qingming Festival - Kwun Tong Chapter" in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs Cultural Literacy (LIVE) at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). We express our deep gratitude to Vessel Kwun Tong for providing the meaningful venue, Vessel 02 Dream, to support this initiative.  Vessel 02 Dream is a semi-covered space beautifully transformed from repurposed shipping containers and conveniently located by the Kwun Tong Promenade.

“Ship”, “River”, "Bridge", and “People” have been identified as the key visual elements of the classic Chinese painting for the First Part of the Kwun Tong Chapter. By situating this learning and creative experience at Vessel 02 Dream within the broader context of Kwun Tong, we aim to bring forth a deeper meaning to this vibrant neighbourhood and industrial hub. Drawing from the timeless inspiration of the classic scroll “Along the River During Qingming Festival”, this project will inspire the youth to imagine fresh possibilities and reinterpret essence of "Vessel," "Water," "Pathways", and "Life of People" in Kwun Tong.

We aim to curate a sensory-rich and thought-provoking learning experience for HKBU students through reinterpreting Kwun Tong in connection with the esteemed Chinese classic painting. Our goal is to guide students with a rich contextual understanding and visual engagement, enable them to articulate their thoughts about “change” and “resilience” through the creative process. Furthermore, we seek to co-create a collaborative artwork that holds their unique perspective on the classic painting and its relevancy to Hong Kong.

Youth Manpower

We are excited to welcome our new cohort of nine interns from various disciplines including Creative Communication, Policy Studies, Sustainability, Tourism, and Fine Art.

At Arts for Good, we are a dedicated social enterprise created by the youth and is for the youth. We are committed to serving as a strong change agent, fostering cross-sector and cross-departmental collaborations to co-create positive social impact through and with the arts, with our purpose on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in Hong Kong.

We hope to strengthen our collaborations with universities to engage young talents in our social and creative initiatives. We co-create change with youth through community-based learning, experiential learning, project-based learning, and service learning opportunities, and we uphold positive values and ethics in all our social impact initiatives. We connect history, heritage and contextual interpretation to broaden perspectives, creating narratives of Hong Kong that resonate with younger generations and their diverse cultural backgrounds and life experiences. Most importantly, we maintain a collective and participatory approach as we move forward on our journey.

Arts for Good 創立
歡迎閱讀 Arts for Good Foundation 2024 年 12 月的通訊。
