Welcome to the September 2024 newsletter of the Arts for Good Foundation. This month, we extend our thanks to the Department of Computer Science at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and the Adventure in Reality (AiR), a TECH 300 Company of CityUHK, for their support in extending the reach of Stories of Hong Kong that we created with the students from the College of Library Arts and Social Science (CLASS) at CityUHK. This collaboration will bring our creative works to two different digital platforms focused on community engagement and youth digital learning through the arts within the CityUHK community. We are excited to launch these platforms on 2 November 2024 as part of initiatives of CityUHK's 30th anniversary celebrations.
As a social impact organisation specialising in engaging youth in storytelling and visual expression with imagination, we strongly believe in the vital role of technology to enhance our ability to drive community and social good through creativity and the power of story. We are dedicated to fostering cross-department and cross-sector collaborations and strive to create another successful case to add to our social impact portfolio. As we move forward, we persist in advocating for creative endeavours, sharing our greater aspirations to stakeholders who align with our vision of a more diverse and inclusive future for Hong Kong.
Best regards,

Cultural Diversity Exhibition At Manulife Hong Kong & Macau in Hong Kong
Manulife values and celebrates the diversity of cultures present in their workforce and in the communities they serve. This October, they will be spotlighting cultures and traditions across Asia, with a particular focus on the ethnic minority communities in Hong Kong.
We are delighted to be participating in Manulife's Global Diversity Awareness Month, acknowledging and paying tribute to the diverse minds and beliefs held by all cultures around the world in their various segments. We will feature young artists from Hong Kong, the Philippines, Pakistan and Mainland China, celebrating the diversity of Hong Kong's culture through textile making, printmaking, miniature arts and photography. This exhibition delves into the essence of cultural diversity through the shared heritages of textile and printmaking. This exploration aims to prompt reflections on connections, belonging, and the spectrum of diversity within Hong Kong through visual, textural, and material contrasts.
Through exhibitions and interpretations, we strongly advocate diversity and inclusion through stories and visual expression with real-life relevance. We utilise ordinary and versatile materials and engage in meaningful art-making processes to embrace cultural diversity as an integral part of daily contemplation. Through our endeavours with artists, we aspire to enhance awareness and catalyze transformative shifts in attitudes, promoting an ethos of inclusivity and respect in Hong Kong.

Weekly English Poetry and Art Integrated Learning Outreach at Caritas Mok Cheung Sui Kun Community Center
We are proud to have played a part in launching The Art Intergrated English Learning Support with Hong Kong Poetry* programme in September in collaboration with the Department of English at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Caritas Mok Cheung Sui Kun Community Center. As we enter October, we are pleased to announce the expansion of the programme, which will be offered as an extracurricular English creative writing class at the community Center. Over the next few months, we will lead students from CUHK, helping them to deliver weekly learning sessions in English creative writing and poetry appreciation to school children as part of their After School Care at the community center.
Under the programme, students from the Department of English, CUHK, will be the key people power delivering this initiative. We strongly advocate for meaningful community service opportunities for university students, adding diversity and meanings to their learning journeys. We are dedicated to delivering another successful example of supporting knowledge transferring and bring students' learning from university campus to the society while making a collaborative impact through and with the arts.
