SAHK and Arts for Good Foundation at HKU MACC Captionstone Project

22nd May, 2026
Welcome to the May newsletter from the Arts for Good Foundation. This month, we are delighted to announce the establishment of our second office space at The HKFYG Jockey Club Social Innovation Centre in Aberdeen, Hong Kong. This premier space which is dedicated to youth-led social impact marks a significant milestone for us and will host our incoming cohort of young makers from three universities and two NGOs, representing disciplines such as Fine Arts, Museum Studies, English, Humanities, and Policy Studies. We are excited to continue advancing our multi-disciplinary project development model by collaborating with a diverse team of young talent, underscoring our commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) - driven talent development through meaningful community service and creative engagement within Hong Kong's civic landscape.

On a personal note, I am delighted to support Careers Day at the German Swiss International School (GSIS) for the third consecutive year. Geared toward Year 10 students, this initiative aims to foster exploration and adaptability as they begin charting their future career journeys. This year, I am pleased to join my fellow panelists in hosting a workshop titled "Transferable Skills That Stand the Test of Time." Additionally, I am also honored serve as an advisor for the "Seek Our Way" Ideation Program, organized by The HKFYG Leadership Institute. The program empowers the younger generation to generate innovative ideas through boundless creativity, thereby helping to solve various social issues and creating more possibilities for a sustainable future.

Empowering SAHK Talent with Creative Initiatives

Our collaboration with SAHK (香港耀能協會) continues to be an incredibly rewarding experience. This month, we are proud to highlight an especially inspiring story of a young creator on the autism spectrum who has demonstrated remarkable artistic potential. By working closely with SAHK’s support team, we have drawn on the diverse expertise of our university talent in artistic illustration, copywriting, visual communication, storytelling and social media management to help her develop a unique Intellectual Property (IP) brand. This multidisciplinary team, representing three departments across two institutions, now manages her digital presence and IP platforms across Mainland China's digital space.

Our ultimate goal is to empower this young creator to take full ownership of her IP brand, supporting her growth as a confident individual whose imagination can truly flourish. This collaborative process is intentionally designed to build agency through tangible creative outputs and visible impact. The energy and dedication our team has brought to this project are truly inspiring, and we look forward to witnessing the continued development and success of her digital presence and brand.

Additionally, we were delighted to lead beneficiaries from SAHK to the University of Hong Kong - Master of Arts in Creative Communication Capstone Project exhibition at the Hong Kong Arts Development Council at Island South. Through this visit, we introduced participants to diverse forms of creativity and potential career pathways, including emerging professional identities such as “slasher” careers and digital entrepreneurship. We discussed how generative AI and AI production agents empower creative workflows, while also emphasizing the irreplaceable value of the human spirit and creative control. Our goal is to continue uplifting each individual by broadening their perspectives and encouraging them to take ownership of their own futures, while fostering a spirit of proactive and meaningful "action of making" that drives diverse pathways of personal growth and transformation.

歡迎閱讀 Arts for Good Foundation 2026年5月號簡訊。
