We had a fruitful month and we are grateful for all these opportunities to give back to our community. We are also proud of the work of ours, and hoping to make more and greater impacts with supports and collaborations.

Ink City Educational Tour with Ethnic Minorities

We were so pleased to welcome the first group of students of ethnic minorities from Yuen Long, and are so proud of these eager and curious cultural learners .

By introducing the contemporary Chinese ink artists and artworks, we intended to introduce the historical and multicultural context of Hong Kong, and how Chinese ink painting artists look for breakthroughs in the multicultural environment.

We also intended to instil inclusion in this diverse society by learning Chinese culture, and looking at the traditional culture from contemporary perspectives, and think about how the Chinese culture resonates with each one of us in our modern society, and what changes have been made by the artists in their creation from the traditional perspective of Chinese ink art.

Textile Performance Art Supported By the Mills

Thanks to the support by the Mills, we have been able to explore textile art freely with contemporary perspectives, to understand the performance aspects of textile art, to invite the children/youth into the softer world of weaving, and use it as a medium for simple social connections. We successfully brought new perspectives to the traditional textile art, which has a long history of empowering women in communities around the world.

Thank you again for all the support. We are looking forward to the summer performance art exhibition at the Mills on 15th August and 5th September, to evoke the public's reflection on the diversity and human connection in our community.

Explore Values, Discovering Resilience

Thank you Dream Impact and Hart HK for inviting me share my core values and my perspectives of social resilience with the youth. I am very glad through my personal stories of my upbringings in the context of huge social changes in China in 1980s, I was able to connect and share my value of time, value of perspectives, and value of persistent efforts. I also deeply believe in power of storytelling to touch our hearts as human being, and unlock our minds as a whole. Through the individual stories in our community, we are making small matrix for a big blue print for all of us.

Uber Supporting Arts For Good Foundation

One of our core values of Arts For Good Foundation is the equality in children’s access to arts and culture in Hong Kong. Children’s equal access to arts and culture is the prior condition, is their basic right.

We are very grateful to have the support from Uber to the children/ youth we serve . With Uber’s support, it would become possible to reach to the children/ youth who live far from the public transportation system, or those who are unable to travel to arts and cultural programmes due to various of reasons .

Art Outreach to Schools and Universities

We are excited to start our outreach discussions and/or plannings with major international schools, The University of Hong Kong, and student-led societies at universities. We are aiming to build an art community for the community and by the community, with youth at tertiary level, to the ones at International Baccalaureate, and to the children at upper primary level. Through our outreach programmes, we aim to visually literate the children/youths, to strengthen their storytelling and leadership skills, and more importantly, to enhance the humanity elements, and to seek our universal values in our community.

Meanwhile, we are also seeking corporate supports to benefit the children/youth from underserved communities or schools, with our deepest belief in equal rights to arts and culture in Hong Kong.
