February Newsletter from Arts for Good Foundation
Welcome to the February newsletter from Arts for Good Foundation. When the year of Ox is upon us, we strive to make impacts with strength, confidence, and conscientiousness.  Arts for Good Foundation envisions arts as soft power to foster social inclusion among children in Hong  Kong. We deeply appreciate all the collaborations, support, and connections from our community, and we will continue to reach out for more impactful work. Kung Hei Fat Choi.

Highlight of February

for their help to identify the underprivileged children in need, we are organising three guided art tours to The Botticelli and His Times exhibition at Hong Kong Museum of Arts. Six students from Sham Shui Po and Kwun Tong will be invited to join the guided tours, together with six students from GSIS, HKIS, and CIS. With the help from our art history professionals, the tours, which is conducted in Cantonese and English simultaneously, will help all the students to gain better understanding, and exchange their understanding on Renaissance Art and Sandro Botticelli in his time context.

Colour and Shapes: Exploring weaving from different cultures

Weaving is an ancient practice that has been used by many cultures around the world and is known for its importance in everyday life but also as a form of storytelling. Weaving allows stories to be told through evidence of the maker's hand in the woven piece. It is a practice that has been used to empower women and bring the community together through the social and collaborative nature of weaving.

We are collaborating with a teacher and textile artist from London, and hoping that by weaving together, the students are able to understand more about different culture's weaving practices and build new friendships with their peers.
We are delighted to help announce "Art for Everyone" by Friends of Hong Kong Museum of Arts (HKMOA), which is a city-wide art campaign that features artwork from the HKMOA across Hong Kong's 18 districts. Between 23 March and 23 May 2021, 100 images of work selected from the HKMOA collection will be showcased on over 260 billboards, digital displays and transport hubs, in outdoor and indoor spaces, presenting art for everyone, everywhere across the city.

Enjoy Art, Enjoy Hong Kong.
